Bhubaneswar: The construction work of Gurupriya Bridge in Malkangiri district will be completed by September informed Rural Development Minister Badri Narayan Patra, on behalf of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in the Odisha Assembly yesterday.

In total Rs 4957.47 crores has been allocated for the construction of the bridge.

In reply to the progress of Biju Express, Patra said that out of the 310 kilometres road work to be constructed with State funds, work of 198 kilometres has completed.

Talking to media persons, Patra said, "The work of Gurupriya Bridge has completed 50 percent and has advanced further, it will be completed by September 2017 and people will be able to use it.”

He added, “Biju Express work is done on a stretch of 664 kilometres consisting of 174 kilometres National Highway, whose work has been completed, and 160 kilometres State Highway, whose work is going to complete by PPP mode. Rest 310 kilometres will be completed from the Biju Experss funds."
