Bhubaneswar: The outcome of the polls in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh that went in favour of BJP has now led to speculations whether the parties in Odisha will be able to stop the victory juggernaut of the saffron party.

The emphatic win especially in Gujarat, considered to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pride has certainly rejuvenated the party workers as well as leaders who can see 'Mission 120' plus on the cards in Odisha.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan claimed that people of Odisha as well as in the country have tremendous faith on Narendra Modi. The party's victory will certainly have an impact in Odisha, he said.

However, the ruling BJD and Congress claimed that the victory in Gujarat will not have any impact on their own prospects in Odisha.

BJD spokesperson Samir Dash said, though BJP registered a win in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, the results were not satisfactory owing to the sharp decline in margins.

Congress too echoed similar views as the party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi managed to give an impressive performance in Gujarat, even though it failed to form the government.

"The Congress is not on the backfoot as we have managed to give a tough fight to the BJP. BJP's victory will certainly not have any impact here in Odisha politics," said Opposition party chief whip and Congress leader, Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
