Delang: Four platoons of police force have been deployed by the Puri district administration at Ghoradia bazaar and nearby places in Delang to maintain law and order situation after a group clash ensued today over a petty issue.

To bring the situation under control, the police personnel present at the spot fired teargas shells as well to disperse the mob.

Puri Collector, SP, Sub-collector, four Tehsildars and SDPO also reached the spot to pacify the situation.

Notably, this morning, the group clash started following an altercation over an incident that occurred on March 6 when a youth had stamped on another youth of neighbouring village.

During the fight, a poultry farmhouse was torched by the mob prompting the local administration to deploy a fire brigade unit to douse the fire.

Besides, shops at the bazaar were ransacked during the group clash.
