Bhubaneswar: The youth wing of the State unit of BJP today demanded questioning of Law Minister Arun Sahoo, Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singhdeo accusing them of having links with Himanshu Bhusan Kar, a staff of the Health department and an aide of Dr Motilal Gouda, who has been arrested in connection with a fraud committed by him while he was posted as assistant director of the Directorate of Factories and Boilers.

Talking to media persons, president of the BJP youth wing Tankadhara Tripathy said, “Himanshu Kar alias Happy Kar has got money from the bank account of the wife of the arrested Motilal Gouda. While the Vigilance and Crime Branch have questioned Kar, who is protecting him? The three ministers should be quizzed as they have close connections with Kar.”

Tripathy further claimed that Kar was the link between Gouda and the three ministers and was aware of all financial transactions between them.

Kar, who is working at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar besides being in the construction business, has received Rs 3.06 lakh from the bank account of Motilal’s wife, said sources at the Vigilance.

Motilal’s wife Rasmi Manjari owns Mount India Pathology, which was among the shortlisted pathological laboratories where Gouda was asking industries in Odisha to undertake medical check up of their staff through a fake gazette notification.

BJD has responded to the allegation saying if the BJP has any evidence, it should give them to the investigating agencies.

Sashibhusan Behera, BJD spokesperson, said, “Gouda is being probed. If they (BJP) have any evidence or documents, they can give the same to the probe agencies.”

He further stated, “The demand should have some logic to be acceptable.”

Gouda is at present lodged in jail for causing loss to the State exchequer by publishing fake gazette notification.
