Bhubanewar: Speaking for the first time since courting controversy after being seen in the VIP box of the Cuttack Barabati Stadium during the T-20 cricket match between India and Sri Lanka  on December 20, chit fund accused Subhankar Nayak today clarified that he had got the pass to see the match from his advocate.

“The High Court while granting bail did not prohibit me from watching cricket matches. Had it been the case I would not have gone to the stadium. I had gone to my advocate to discuss a case where he asked me if I watch sports or not. When I said I like Cricket he gave me the pass. I don’t have any idea about which one is the BCCI box or the VIP box,” said Subhankar.

Subhankar was seen among top VIPs in the BCCI Box of Barabati Stadium during India-Sri Lanka T20 match on Wednesday.

Subhankar, who was arrested by CBI on November 18, 2014 for his alleged links with Seashore Group, was granted conditional bail by High Court in August 2017. It was alleged that Nayak acted as a middleman between the Seashore Group and influential persons in the State.
