Khurda: Sleuths of Revenue Intelligence Directorate on Sunday seized 15 gold biscuits from a passenger at Khurda Road Junction railway station.

Acting on a tip off, the sleuths raided the railway station and seized nearly 2.5 kg of gold biscuits, worth more than Rs 76.59 lakh, with Myanmar markings, from a passenger travelling from Guwahati to Chennai in a train bearing number 02841 running from Santragachi Jn (SRC) to Chennai Central (MAS).

The person smuggling the gold was arrested under the Customs Act 1962, stated a press note from the directorate.
