Godman held; villagers set ashram on fire

Niali: Police on Monday arrested a self-styled godman from Sadansa village under Niali Police station limits in Cuttack district.

Soon after his arrest, irate villagers set fire to the ashram.

According to reports, the arrested godman Jitu Baba alias Shrabana Kumar Bhola was staying in an ashram he had built on government land.

Villagers had alleged that anti-social activities were going on in the ashram. Some days back, a complaint was lodged in Niali police station against Jitu Baba and his followers for misbehaving with some women of the village.
