Girl stripped, thrashed in public in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: In yet another shameful instance of brutality against women, a girl was allegedly stripped and humiliated in front of her family by a youth in Lokapada village under Aul police limits in Kendrapara district.

This shocking incident was reported yesterday when the accused identified as Saroj Das dragged and thrashed the victim and her mother.

Later, the girl was beaten up and stripped in public view after she tried to resist the youth.

“He (accused) started to make abusive remarks and later assaulted and misbehaved with me. I want justice and stern action against him,” said the victim.

Police swung into action and arrested the accused after the matter was reported by few locals. Such kind of violence and atrocities against women being reported from several parts has now raised question on their safety.
