Girl forced to drink alcohol, raped; Video goes viral

Kalahandi: In a shocking incident, a girl was allegedly raped by a youth after forcing her to drink alcohol in a forest near Dharmagarh in Kalahandi district. The whole episode was videographed by two other friends of the youth and later made viral on social media.

The girl on Friday lodged a complaint against the trio at the Junagarh police station after seeing the objectionable video surfacing in Dharmagarh.

As per the complaint, the incident occurred on March 31 when the girl was returning from the Shani Temple in the evening. Reportedly, three youths dragged her to a nearby forest and forcibly made her to drink alcohol. When the girl got intoxicated, one of the youths allegedly raped her while the other two videographed the whole incident in a mobile phone.

The three further blackmailed and threatened her that they would make the video viral if she revealed the matter to anyone.

The girl alleged, “I was returning from the Shani temple last Saturday. They took me to the forest, stripped and raped me after forcing me to drink alcohol. Later, they started blackmailing me, saying if I don’t maintain a physical relationship, they would make the video viral. I was afraid after the incident and could not reveal it to my family members. After finding that they have made the video viral, I decided to lodge a case and informed my family about the matter,” she added.

The girl’s mother alleged, ‘’One Chitta has raped my daughter. If he marries her then it’s fine, or else he will be behind bars as we have already lodged an FIR.”
