Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The application process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 will end tomorrow i.e. October 5, 2017. The aspiring candidates who have not registered for the same must apply soon.

According to a statement provided on the official website of GATE 2018, there will be no extension of registration deadline.

Like every year, online registration and application process of the exam will be conducted through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) which is hosted in gate.iitg.ac.in. GATE registration is mandatory for admission and financial support for Masters programmes and Doctoral programmes in selected science, engineering and technology institutes under the Government of India.

The organizing institute of GATE 2018, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati further announced that due to last minute rush, the application portal may respond slow which could result in payment failure and has thus, advised that interested candidates should apply at the earliest to avoid any server issues.

Steps to follow for registration of GATE 2018:

  • Register in GOAPS registration. An e-mail containing the GOAPS Enrollment ID will be sent to the applicant. This Enrollment ID will be the reference ID for all future communication.
  • Login to the GATE 2018 GOAPS website with your registration credentials
  • Enter the required details on the page
  • Click ‘Save and View Application’ button.
  • Click on ‘Submit and Proceed to Payment’ button
  • Pay the fee

Before proceeding to payment, the candidate is advised to view the filled-in application form by clicking ‘Save and View Application’ button. Please check carefully for any errors in the data entered in the application form.

However, the registered candidates can make necessary corrections in their applications until November 17, 2017 by mailing the details to their respective zonal GATE office as mentioned in the application.

For this, the candidates, in the email should mention their Enrollment ID as well as the nature of corrections along with the scanned copy of the proof, the notification added.

The application fee for the unreserved category is Rs 1,500; for women and other reserved categories the fee is Rs 750, while it is $50 for international students.

The GATE exam will be conducted on February 3, 4, 10 and 11, 2018 respectively. The admit cards for the same will be available from January 5, 2018.

NOTE: The last date to apply for GATE 2018 is October 5, 2017. Candidates can apply for the exam on the official website gate.iitg.ac.in.
