Ganja racket busted in Cuttack; 3 arrested

Cuttack: Busting a major ganja smuggling racket, police arrested three persons and seized 16 kgs of ganja from their possession near Kandarpur here last night.

The accused have been identified as Manoj Hota of Cuttack and Surya Madhab Keshari Balabantaray and Badal Jena of Jagatsinghpur district.

Acting on a tip-off about transportation of the contraband items in a car, police swung into action and launched an inspection of vehicles at Kandarpur on Cuttack-Paradip road.

During the checking, 16 kgs ganja and 50 gms brown sugar were seized from the car.

Five mobile phones and Rs 11,100 cash were also seized from the trio. Further investigation in connection with the incident is on, police said.
