Bhubaneswar: Union minister for Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will arrive here this afternoon to attend the ‘Vikas Utsav’ the BJP is observing to commemorate two years of its government at the Centre.

According to sources in the party, the Union minister will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in the city at 1.15 pm and will meet BJP officials at the party office at 2.30 pm.

He will hold a press conference at 4.30 pm and interact with intellectuals at a city hotel at 6.30 pm.

The first event of the Vikas Utsav in the state in Balasore on June 2 was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while the second in Rourkela was a fiasco with local MLA Dilip Ray boycotting the event and the two union ministers scheduled to address it backing off at the last minute on the pretetext of bad weather.
