Bhubaneswar: The Assembly today witnessed similar pandemonium for the six consecutive day as the stand-off between government and opposition parties over the cases of farmers’ suicide continued in the House on Tuesday.

Unable to run the House, Speaker Niranjan Pujari adjourned it for an hour only three minutes after the the House assembled for the day.

As soon as the house assembled for the question hour, Congress, BJP members led by Taraprasad Bahinipati rushed to the well demanding that a house committee be constituted to probe the cases of farmer suicide. They shouted anti-government slogan in the well paralysing the proceedings.

The opposition members again resumed pandemonium soon after the House reassembled. They shouted at the government in the well of House demanding a proposal to be moved unanimously to hike the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy per quintal to Rs 2800.

Members of the Opposition bench knock Speaker’s table and tried to climb podium halting the transaction. Speaker Niranjan Pujari again declared adjournment of House till 3 pm.
