Cuttack: Lok Sabha MP and chairperson, Railway Convention Committee Bhartruhari Mahatab on Tuesday inaugurated free Wi-Fi at Cuttack railway station.

Devraj Panda, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road was also present on the occasion.

Officials said as part of an ambitious project towards Digital India initiative by Indian Railways, passengers will have high-speed internet facility at the station.

“Designed to offer users the best internet experience, RailWire Wi-Fi will be available to any user who has a working mobile connection on a smart phone or on any laptop device. This is all a part of East Coast Railway’s continuing endeavours to provide more and better comfort to its esteemed passengers,” an official said.

Umesh Singh, General Manager, East Coast Railway had during his visit to Cuttack railway station, announced that Wi-Fi service will be enabled at the station any time near Puja festival. In view of this, experimental service of Wi-fi at the station was started during puja festival.
