Four-year-old girl raped by uncle in Kendrapara; accused arrested

Kendrapara: A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle in Rajkanika area of the district on April 24. The matter came to the fore after the family members of the survivor lodged an FIR at Rajkanika police station on Sunday.

However, police today arrested the accused, who happens to be the girl's paternal uncle, on the basis of a complaint lodged by her parents.

Sources said, when the girl was alone in her house, the accused came, took her to a nearby bamboo bush and raped her. Her mother has alleged that the accused is threatening them to settle the matter without the involvement of police.

"I had gone to a grocery shop leaving my daughter with my mother-in-law. In the meantime, her uncle took her daughter to a bamboo bush and raped her," said the mother of the rape survivor.

Earlier on April 27, a minor girl was allegedly raped by a youth after she rejected his love advances in Soro of Balasore district.
