Berhampur: The Marine Police, Ganjam arrested four Philippines nationals today for talking over Thuraya Satellite phone.

Reports said the four Philippines nationals—Nathaniel A. Faza (38), second officer, Librado P. Jemina (37), chief officer, Eduardo S. Gruspe (46), chief cook and Jescel B. Bautista (34), ordinary seaman— had come in a MB Fortune cargo vessel to the Gopalpur Port to take black sands from the Indian Rare Earths Ltd (IREL).

However, the Marine Police arrested them as they were found talking over Thuraya Satellite phone in gross violation of the Indian Wireless Telegraph Rules.

Police later produced the four Philippines nationals in the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Chhatrapur.
