Bhubaneswar: The commissionerate police today interrogated four more friends of Asutosh Mohanty alias Rishi, an engineering student, in connection with his death in May this year.
Since allegations have been made that the death of Rishi is closely linked to the sex video which was recently circulated in the social media, police are looking into these two angles.
Meanwhile, talking to the media today, a friend of Rishi said he suspects the involvement of Rishi’s girlfriend in his death. “We want that the CBI should interrogate the girlfriend and her all family members so that the link of Rishi’s death with the sex video would be known,” he added.
He also said he had met Rishi three days before his death when he was in a jovial mood. “But I had not met him on the day he died,” he pointed out.
It will be a challenge for the police to probe into various angles to find out whether Rishi’s death had any link with the sex video for which he was murdered through drug overdose. Besides, had Rishi given a hint on the threat to his life in his message in the facebook? Does his girlfriend know about the link of the sex video to his death? Where are the girlfriend and her family? “Police will be able to unravel the truth if it interrogates the persons who were close to Rishi,” said his friend to the media.
Out of the four friends who were grilled by the police today, two were his mess mates and the other two friends who had admitted Rishi to the Capital Hospital. Apart from this, police are examining Rishi’s phone call details and his facebook message.
On the other hand, police will call up Pradip Pandey, proprietor of Niakhunta portal (www.niakhunta.com), for the second time for interrogation on December 27.
Reiterating that the sex video had a close link to the death of Rishi, Pandey said he will appear before the Capital Police on December 27 for interrogation.
“I have enough information with me which I will provide to the police during interrogation,” he added.
Notably, Pandey had appeared before the Capital Police on Tuesday for interrogation. Police later handed him over a copy of the FIR lodged by BMC Mayor Anant Narayan Jena against him.
