Four-month-old baby stolen in presence of mother

Balasore: An unidentified woman allegedly stole a four-month-old baby boy near Anand Bazaar Square at Sahadevkhunta in Balasore district today in presence of the mother.

The baby's mother, identified as Gouri Dalei of Saragan village in Padmapur, has lodged a complaint at Chandipur police station in this regard.

As per the complaint, Gouri was having breakfast at an eatery at Anand Bazaar when the accused woman came and asked her to hold the baby for a while. However after sometime, Gouri could neither  trace the woman nor got back her child.

Gouri lodged a police complaint following which police swung into action and have started investigation into the incident.

"Investigation is on into the incident. We will trace the baby soon," said a police official.
