Cuttack: The foundation stone for the much awaited second bridge to popular Dhabaleswar temple was laid by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera today.

Official sources said the project has been envisaged by the administration keeping in view the safety of devotees visiting the Shiva temple. The cost of the project has been estimated at Rs 19.27 crore.

At present, there is a suspension (jhoola) bridge which is being used by devotees to reach the temple. The new bridge will play a crucial role in resolving problems faced by the devotees.

The new bridge will be 250 mts long, 5.1 mts wide and the work will be completed within 2 years, official sources said.
