Puri: An Argentina national was quizzed by the Singhadwara police after servitors of the Sri Jaganaath Temple in Puri caught hold of him near the Laxmi Mandir in the premises of the 12th century shrine on Monday.

As non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the Sri Jagannath temple, the foreigner holding ‘Mahaprasad’ was intercepted by servitors near the Laxmi Mandir and handed over to the police.

The police, during the questioning, came to know that the Argentina national’s wife was also visiting Puri along with him, but she did not enter the temple.

Despite tight security at the four gates of the Sri Jaganaath Temple, the Argentina national’s presence in the shrine has raised doubt on the arrangements.
