Cuttack: Infrastructural issues during anti-Maoists operation are a major challenge for the forces said DGP RP Sharma on Friday after a coordination meeting to deal with Mao-menace in Odisha.

Sharma said that Maoists are adopting new skills and building corridors at various places. Depending on the movement of the Naxals the security forces also have to move accordingly and establish themselves in new areas. Therefore the forces are facing infrastructural and related issues such as logistics.

"We discussed how soon we can address those issues to see that the operational forces are comfortable, their morale is high and they can conduct operation smoothly," said Sharma.

Police and other security forces’ teams are keeping a tight watch on the Naxal movements said Sharma adding that the joint operation should be flawless. He also added that two platoons of central forces are needed to deal with Naxals effectively.
