Bhubaneswar: To spread awareness on peace and harmony and encourage people to take up cycling, a group of eight members have begun a cycle rally from Cuttack to Kathmandu today.

The trip organised by the Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club was flagged off at the Cuttack Barabati stadium. Social activist and founder of KIIT University Achyuta Samanta joined the inaugural ceremony and encouraged the participants.

During the 12-day ‘Kataka to Kathmandu’ rally, the group would cover 1450 kilometre to reach Kathmandu on October 9.

IPS officer Sanjeeb Panda,who is also participating in the trip, said, "All the participants are very excited for the trip, the main objective of which is to spread awareness on peace and friendship. We will cover places like Sambalpur, Ambikapur, Varanasi, Renukoot and Gorakhpur during the trip."
