Five-yr-old girl gangraped by two minor boys in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: In yet another incident of sexual assault against minor girls, a five-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by two minor boys in Kantaballabhapur area under Sadar police limits of Jagatsinghpur district late Wednesday night.

The incident occurred late last night when the two minor boys, aged 11 and 13, allegedly sexually assaulted the minor girl, who happens to be their neighbour.

The girl's mother filed a written complaint at the Sadar police station this morning following which police detained the minor duo and initiated an investigation into the incident.

As per sources, police have registered a case (89/2018) in this connection while the girl has been sent to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for medical examination and her statement recorded under Section 164 CrPC.

Jagatsinghpur SDPO Sujogya Mishra said, "Two minor boys have sexually abused the 5-year-old girl. The trio has been sent for medical examination. After getting the reports, we will take necessary action against the boys. As per preliminary investigation, the girl has alleged that she was raped but we are waiting for the report."

In a similar incident on April 24, another five-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Sambalpur by a 15 to 16-year-old minor who happens to be her neighbour.

Similarly, another incident was reported from Mayurbhanj district on April 19 where a minor tribal girl was allegedly raped by an auto driver near Thakurmunda area. The incident happened when the girl was returning home with her family after visiting a religious event Uda Parba. After her parents got down off the auto, the driver drove away the minor on the pretext of parking his vehicle at a nearby place and allegedly raped her.
