Rajgangpur: Police on Sunday nabbed five members of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) from Ranipiya village under Rajgangpur police station limits and seized a cache of arms and ammunition from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off that a gang of PLFI members were trying to extort money from a businessman at gunpoint at Ranipiya village, a team of Rajgangpur police station rushed to the village and nabbed them.

Police seized three bikes, four pistols, several rounds of live bullets and five mobile phones from their possession.

According to police, there are several cases of murder, dacoity and collection of extortion money pending against these arrested PLFI members at several police stations in Rajgangpur area.

Till reports last came in, Sundergarh and Rourkela police were jointly interrogating the arrested PLFI members.
