Sambalpur: Five more persons were today arrested in connection with the double murder case in Thelakopada  area in Sambalpur. With this, the total number of those in police custody has gone up to 7.

On Monday, the prime accused Pandav Mukhi and his aide were nabbed for murdering one Sujit Nag of Thelakopada .

As per sources, a group led by Pandav chased and attacked Sujit near Laxmi Talkies Chhak and injured him critically. Although he was rushed to hospital the doctors declared him brought dead.

Irate over the incident, Sujit's supporters attacked Pandav's brother Shankar and also torched his house. Later, Shankar was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

As tension prevailed, district administration had deployed a large number of police personnel in the area to maintain law and order.

Even as the motive behind the attack is yet to be confirmed, past animosity is suspected to be the reason.
