Keonjhar: Odisha denizens especially who are living in far flung remote areas will now be able to avail free of cost and good quality high-tech health care facilities and see top health experts with first of its kind digital dispensaries about to come up in Keonjhar district.

As per sources, three modernized digitalised dispensaries based on the idea of telemedicine will be set up at Joda, Telkoi and Banspal blocks of the district.

In the first phase a clinic will be opened up at Guali of Joda block and two other dispensaries at Kalimati. Subsequently, clinics will be opened up at Gonasika, Kaliahata and Kalanda.

Since doctors do not want to visit backward remote areas, the initiative to open up these telemedicine clinics is to help people living in cut off areas have access to better health checkups, advice from experts through video concerning.

Besides, people will also be able to get free tests, and medicines from these modern health dispensaries.

“Even if the doctor is away, a patient can tell their problems while sitting right here in the clinic. After the doctor prescribes laboratory technicians, pharmacists present therein can immediately test as per the directions. Patients can get their digital reports and medicines immediately,” Kabindra Prasad Sahoo, CDMO Keonjhar said.
