Fire breaks out at shoe godown in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Shoes worth lakhs of rupees gutted after a major fire broke out at a shoe godown in Kumbharapada area here late on Saturday night.

According to sources, the incident took place at around 3 am today. Locals noticed smoke billowing out of the three storeyed godown and immediately informed the fire brigade.

Being informed about the incident, four fire tenders rushed to spot and doused the flame, sources added.

However, no casualty was reported in the mishap.

Though the exact reason behind the outbreak of fire is unknown, short circuit is suspected as the reason behind the mishap, said a fire official.
