Farmer dies after falling into trap set for wild animals

Berhampur: A farmer of Motajhari village under Buguda Tehsil in Ganjam district was killed today after he came in contact with live electric wires laid as 'trap' by  suspected poachers to hunt wild boar. The deceased has been identified as Gadei Gouda.

The incident took place when Gouda had gone to his farm land this morning and later fell in the trap that were connected to live wires. He died on the spot.

Irate over the incident, locals staged a dharna keeping the dead body on the road and demanded adequate compensation for the family members of the deceased farmer.
