Malkangiri: Adding to the series of unfortunate incidents of ambulance failure, a woman was carried on shoulders for seven kilometres in Kanaguda village of Malkangiri district after 108 ambulance failed to reach the area due to bad road connectivity to the village on Saturday.

As per sources, the family members of the woman named Jani Madhi of the village called 108 ambulance as she was severely ill.

However, due to terrible condition of the road connecting the village the ambulance failed to reach the spot.

Later, family members of the patient carried her on shoulders for nearly seven kilometres to another village named Gamphakonda where after waiting for two hours, the ambulance arrived and then carried the patient to Kalimela hospital.

Meanwhile, the condition of the patient is stable, informed the doctor in-charge.
