Bhubaneswar: Hoping to get justice, she ran from pillar to post, but Kamala Nayak and her only differently-abled son from Kupari village of Khaira block in Balasore district got no help. She then took a decision few would make by seeking help from the Prime Minister himself.

Sources said after getting approval from the PMO, Kamala along with her son have endeavoured to meet the PM and apprise him on how a neighbour had illegally and forcefully seized land what is rightfully theirs. Even after repeated appeals to the local administration no one showed up to resolve their dispute.

“Some villagers have seized my registered land but are not returning it to us. The Revenue Inspector and the Amin recently visited the spot but measured only one part of our home plot whereas left the other three parts. They said further measurements would be done after notice but till now they have not carried out anymore inspection,” Kamala lamented before mediapersons while leaving for Delhi.

Dejected over the sorry state of affairs Kamala finally decided to seek justice from the PM. After the PMO came to know about the incident, the state Chief Secretary was asked to solve the issue and report about it.

On the other hand even after carrying out a probe and necessary measurement procedures, the additional Tehsildar did not apprise anything to the complainant.

“After inspection and proper demarcation of the land we found that the opposition party had been settled over the disputed land for quite a long time so we advised the complainant to take her case to civil court where the dispute could be solved easily. We have also asked the District Legal Services Authority to take up the case,” Khaira Tehsildar Ramesh Chandra Jena said.
