Sundergarh: While people are eagerly waiting for the auspicious Ganesh Puja to seek blessings of the Lord to bring prosperity in their lives, it has become a curse for a family of Lamiti village under Dharuadihi police limits in the district after it was ostracised for not paying donation for the festival celebrations.

As per reports, the family of Sadanand Singh was ostracised by a ‘Kangaroo Court’ of the village for not paying the donation amount as asked by the village committee for the Puja arrangements.

Besides, other villagers have been threatened to be fined Rs 5,000 if they talk to the members of Singh’s family.

In a similar incident, another family of the village was also ostracised for not paying a penalty of Rs 4000 imposed after a part of a tree in its yard fell on the boundary wall of another villager while cutting.
