Malkangiri/Bhubaneswar: After three years of wait and disappointment, mother of missing tribal student of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Mudulipara police in Malkangiri district.

Mystery still prevails over disappearance of the tribal KISS student, Rama Chandra of Dantipara in Bondaghati of Malkangiri district who has been missing since 2015.

While the family members allege that Rama Chandra didn’t return home from the school, the institute authorities claim that the student had gone home during the summer vacations and didn’t come back.

In despair, Rama Chandra's mother Budai Mandra along with other members of the family has also requested intervention of the State government in the matter.

"A complaint has been registered as per the family's version that the KISS student Rama Chandra has been missing for the last three years. We will start our investigation soon," said Mudulipara Police Station in-charge, Prasant Nichika.

Couple of days earlier, refuting the charges, CEO of KISS, Pramod Kumar Patra had said that the family never informed them about their missing child.

“After the summer vacations, he didn’t return to the school; when we asked his friends, they told that Rama Chandra had some spat with his mother following which he left home,” Patra had said.

Rama Chandra had come to KISS to pursue higher education after completing primary schooling. But since 2015, he has been missing and no one is aware of his whereabouts till now.
