Bhubaneswar: Protesting the ITER fake placement scam, activists of the Students’ Congress on Tuesday raised questions over State Government’s inaction and demanded immediate arrest of the varsity founder Manoj Nayak.

They accused the government of not being serious and not taking any quick and necessary decision regarding the fake placements at the ITER, a constituent of SOA University which is affecting the career of hundreds of students in the State.

Attending a press meet here, Students’ Congress President Itish Pradhan said the State Government has remained silent over the issue and questioned why Manoj has not been arrested claiming the State Government is trying to shield him.

"Till now police have only detained the ITER placement officer Raj Kumar Hota and fraudster job consultant Manas Nayak. We demand immediate arrest of the founder of ITER University Manoj Nayak, "said Pradhan.

The Youth Congress members also threatened to gherao the Police Commissionerate on June 23 if their demands are not fulfilled.

However, senior officials of the Commissionerate police could not be contacted over the issue.
