Extortion case filed against Mayurbhanj BJP president

Baripada: The Mayurbhanj district BJP president Krushna Chandra Mohapatra landed in a soup after a complaint accusing him of asking check gate officials for money was filed against him with police on Monday.

Kulamani Bhoi, ACCTO of the inter-state check gate located at Jamsola, leveled the charge against the BJP leader and registered a written complaint at Jhadapokharia police station.

In his complaint, Bhoi alleged that Mohapatra, along with some supporters, visited the check gate office and asked the officials there for a huge amount of money. When the officials refused to give them money, they thrashed them mercilessly, Bhoi alleged in his complaint.

On the other hand, Mohapatra has filed a complaint that the check gate officials have misbehaved with him and his supporters.
