Koraput: The Odisha Government on Tuesday decided to depute a high-level team to take stock of the ongoing activities being undertaken by neighbouring Andhra Pradesh at disputed Kotia panchayat in Koraput district.

Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty informed that the team comprising engineers and experts will visit Kotia soon to take stock of the situation. The team will also discuss with district Collector and other officials in this regard.

The Minister further said the Government has also sought suggestions from the Law Department on the matter.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Government embarked on a new drive to lure the villagers by starting construction of roads in another village of Kotia panchayat.

The construction work is being carried out at Talaganjeipadar with the help a poclain machine. However, the district administration officials have not opposed such activities.

Earlier, the Andhra officials helped Kotia villagers to get Aadhaar cards by setting up an enrolment center.

On January 10, some officials from Andhra Pradesh accompanied by Vijayanagaram Collector had distributed blankets and solar lights in Kotia and nearby villages.
