Malkangiri: After a brief lull in naxalite activities, Maoists once again struck terror in Panasput, an interior village in the cut off areas of Chitrakonda in Malkangiri district, by thrashing three villagers severely at a Praja Court.

Sources said the Maoists abducted former sarpanch of Panasput Arjun Hantal and two of his associates suspecting them of being police informers and produced them in a praja court conducted in a forest outside the village.

The ultras warned them of dire consequence if they continue to work for police, sources added. Later, they released the trio.
