Bargarh: Family of an ex-Samiti Member, who was working as a bonded labourer in Bengaluru, has approached the Bargarh district Collector to bring back his body from Andhra Pradesh.

Ex-Samiti Member Chhabilal Duduka, resident of Gourenmunda village under Gaisilet block of Bargarh district, was run over by a train near Nellore railway station in Andhra Pradesh when he was returning home from Bengaluru.

Chhabilal had left for Bengaluru six months back and was working in a factory there.

"He was a very innocent person who had gone to work as a bonded labourer. There is no one now to sustain his family other than a daughter and pregnant wife. We demand that government should provide Rs 4 to 5 lakhs for their sustenance and Rs 20,000 from Red Cross Fund so that the family members will be able to bring back the body," said a local Suresh Chhatria.

"I have talked with Additional SP, Padampur SDPO and Gaisilet BDO on this matter. We will provide financial support from the Red Cross Fund so that they will be able to bring back the body. After that the district administration will surely take steps to support the family," said Bargarh Collector Khagendra Kumar Padhi.
