Nabarangpur:  Senior Congress leader and former MP Pradeep Majhi and his family members along with the family of former chairperson of the Nabarangpur Zilla Parishad, Manjula Majhi have been ostracised from the Bhatra Samaj.

The district Bhatra Samaj at a meeting held at the Bhatra Rajbhavan in Nabarangpur took the decision as girls from both the families got married outside their castes. In pursuant to this decision, Pradeep Mahji’s father, former MP Bhagwan Majhi has also been removed from the president’s post of the central committee of the Bhatra Samaj.

“When the marriage happened nobody complained. Even yesterday when the decision was taken no member of our family was present. If they are trying to get political mileage by targeting me and Bhagwan Majhi then I have nothing to say. If I receive any communication from the Bhatra Samaj then I will take legal help,” said Manjula.

“We have ostracised them keeping in mind the future of our Samaj as the persons who were entrusted with power and responsibility in our Samaj have berated us,” said advisor of Bhatra Development Council, Diwakar Pujari.
