Ex-BSF man arrested for PLFI links contested 2009 elections

Rourkela: The Ex-BSF assistant commandant Jadumani Patra, who was arrested for his links with People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) had fought elections in 2009 on SP ticket, informed police today.

Jadumani and his three aides are presently under a two-day police remand following arrest earlier this week.

According to sources, investigation into Jadumani's involvement in various criminal activities in Keonjhar, Sundergarh and neighbouring Jharkhand is on.

Meanwhile, Sundergarh SP Pinak Mishra has written to BSF to ascertain the authenticity of the ID card recovered from Jadumani which claimed that he was a BSF commandant.

Jadumani and other accused were arrested in a raid at a camp in Kukudabahal forest under Biramitrapur police limits in the intervening night of September 29 and 30.

One carbine, 3 double barrel rifles, one 9MM pistol, 57 rounds of live ammunition and other objectionable items were also recovered from the spot.

Police sources said that Jadumani used to impart training on the use of rifles and other sophisticated weapons at different centres of PLFI, an extremist outfit of the Communist party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
