Bhubaneswar: Counselling for engineering admission in Odisha, which will be done on the basis of JEE Main ranks, will begin by June 15 as per the new rules in line with the format followed by IITs and NITs.

As per the new guidelines, the meritorious students of JEE Main can have their registration and lock choices on OJEE's website following which temporary seats would be allotted to them.

“After temporary seats allotment, students can take part in counselling and deposit the part admission fee, Rs 25,000. So, all the candidates will not have to appear at the nodal centres,” said OJEE chairman Tushar Nath.

The deposited fees will remain with OJEE till the completion of the third phase of admissions. The final list of admission will be published only after completion of the third phase of counselling. Then the students will have to pay the rest amount to the colleges in which they get enrolled. In the meantime, they can switch streams and colleges.
