Engineer arrested while taking bribe

Keonjhar: Vigilance officials of Keonjhar district unit today arrested Dipak Kumar Sahu, executive engineer of Nesco, while he was accepting a bribe from a local contractor at his office in Joda.

Vigilance sources said Sahu had demanded Rs 30,000 from Sangam Keshari Das, owner ofJyoshna Electrical Appliances to approve the estimate for a project.

The contractor informed the Vigilance officials who laid a trap and caught Sahu red-handed while he was accepting the bribe.

The anti-corruption officials later arrested Sahu.

Vigilance officials are conducting simultaneous raid on the rented house of Sahu in Keonjhar and his residential house in Bhubaneswar.
