Sambalpur: The blood sample of the patient at VIMSAR, who was allegedly transfused contaminated blood, has tested negative for Hepatitis-C in the ELISA test conducted after a furore over the issue..

"The rapid test done yesterday had showed negative. Today, the micro-biology department conducted the ELISA test, which confirmed it as Hepatitis C negative," VIMSAR blood bank official Chitta Ranjan Pradhan said.

Following an OTV report on the botched-up blood transfusion in the premier health institute, the hospital superintendent had yesterday asked for a report within 72 hours. A four-member team was formed under the chairmanship of the pathology department head to investigate the issue.

On the other hand, efforts are being made to collect the blood sample of the other patient, who was allegedly transfused with HIV-infected blood, informed Hospital authorities.
