Elephant carcass found in Khurda

Khurda: An elephant carcass was recovered from Chitrakoot Mountain near Nirakarpur village under Tangi block of Khurda district on Saturday.

As per sources, the carcass has been identified to be of a female pachyderm aged nearly 20 years.

The female elephant is expected to have died 10-12 days ago due to old age, said forest officials.

The carcass will be buried after autopsy, informed officials.
