Elderly woman burnt to death over property dispute

Angul: An elderly woman was burnt to death after her house was set on fire allegedly by a relative over some property dispute at Banabaspur village under Nalco police limits of Angul district late last night.

The deceased has been identified as Draupadi Pradhan (60), a native of Hindol in Dhenkanal district.

Sources said Draupadi was staying alone in a thatched house at Banabaspur and was working as a labourer. It is alleged that one of her relatives had set her house on fire in a bid to grab her land last night. Her body was recovered from the house this morning.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and have started investigation into the incident.
