Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state, a Special Protection Group (SPG) team, the elite reckoning force responsible for Prime Minister’s security details, headed by IG Jaswant Jethwa reviewed the security arrangements here on Wednesday.

The team went to the Airport, Janata Maidan and the Lingaraj temple here and inspected security arrangements. The SPG discussed with the police commissioner and other senior officials and reviewed security arrangements to ensure safety at all the designated places, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to move.

The SPG team has made a blueprint of the entire security arrangement to make Modi's visit to the temple hassle- free. It also held discussion with the temple administration and priests. Modi is expected to reach the temple at 8 am on April 16 and offer prayer to Lord Shiva.

Sources said bullet proof car and jammers have already arrived here for the Prime Minister's carcade during his visit. Besides, 17 platoons of police force along with 300 officers and special contingents will be deployed to ensure his safety and smooth traffic flow.

The temple administration and servitors have made special arrangements for the PM. He will be welcomed with Khandua Pata and offered with 'Kora Khai', the famous Prasad of the temple. Besides, a special team of servitors will be engaged to appraise the PM about the temple and Lord Lingaraj, sources added.
