Eight killed, two injured in lightning in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Eight persons died and two others seriously injured as lightning struck in different parts of Odisha during Kalabaisakhi (Norwester) this afternoon.

Reports from Kalahandi district said a man and his daughter were killed after lightning struck them at Bhatakhamara village under Narla block in the afternoon. Besides, a man of the same village was killed and his wife was critically injured in lightning.

In Balasore district, two persons were killed and one person was seriously injured after they were struck by lightning in Jaleswar block.

In Kandhamal district, two persons of Ghantipada village also died of lightning while one person died at Baguda village under Patnagarh block in Balangir district.
