Eggs hurled at Odisha CM; accused youth roughed up

Baripada: Eggs were hurled at Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik during his visit to Mayurbhanj district to inaugurate various developmental projects.

According to sources, the incident occurred at the rally ground in Suliapada when a youth hurled eggs at the CM. The police had apprehended a youth in this connection. However, the youth was soon captured by few others and was severely beaten up in presence of the police.

CM’s 1-day visit is being protested by several forums. As many as 26 persons have been detained by police for showing black flags to the CM during his visit.

On the other hand, the CM inaugurated various developmental projects in Mayurbhanj today.
