Aul (Kendrapara): Two more persons, including local BJD leader Bhisma Mohanty was arrested by Aul Police in connection with egg attack on union minister Jual Oram during his visit to Rajkanika in Kendrapara on June 16.
The chief accused in the case, Mohanty is husband of former Aul Panchayat Samiti chairperson.
Earlier, seven persons were arrested in the case after BJP lodged complaint against 22 BJD men.
The Tribal Affairs minister also apprised Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh requesting him to direct Odisha government to probe into the attack.
BJP activists staged silent protests across Odisha on Sunday over the issue and state's failure to maintain law and order situation. They sat on dharna by wearing black badges at different public places as a mark of protest.
Earlier, a BJP delegation led by party’s state president Basant Panda had also met Governor SC Jamir and urged him to issue strictures to the state government over frequent egg attacks on union ministers.
