Cuttack: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has started the process of attaching the properties of close associates of arrested gangster brothers—Sushil and Sushant Dhal Samant (D-brothers).

As per reports, ED sleuths on Friday conducted raids on the houses of three aides of the notorious gangster brothers including—Bharat Swain, Siba Gochi and Kuni Das.

Simultaneous raids were conducted at eight places particularly on the properties of gang members of Dhal Samant brothers at Gandarpur and Mahanadi Vihar in Cuttack.

Sources said nearly 10 to 15 associates of Dhal Samant brothers are on ED scanner and soon the process of assessing their properties for attachment will begin.

Earlier, ED had attached properties of Dhal Samant brothers that were seized following their arrests by Commissionerate Police in January 2016.

Seven firearms with 127 live bullets, a carbine, double barrel gun with 22 rounds of ammunition and cash worth over Rs 2.65 crore along with a cash counting machine were recovered from their house.

The Enforcement Directorate is now probing the financial transactions of the gangster brothers and their associates and it is believed that process of property attachment will be intensified in coming days.
