Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is probing into the financial dealing of the Dhalasamant brothers, grilled more than five businessmen including scrap dealer Bhola Bhagat today in connection with their financial dealing with the criminal siblings.

The Commissionerate Police. in course of its investigation into the criminal antecedents of Dhalasamant brothers, had come to know about the involvement of Bhagat in criminal activities of the infamous brothers.

Besides, police had also come to know that Bhagat's vehicle was used to carry the bodies of Om and Dipu (henchmen of Dhalasamant brothers who were murdered inside a farm house at Khuntakata in Athagarh block in Cuttack district) to Jharkhand, where the bodies were set on fire.

However, Bhagat, who is out on bail, has denied having any business links with the Dhalasamants.

Talking to media persons after his interrogation, Bhagat said the ED had called him for presenting some documents. “I do not have any business links with D-brothers,” he added.

Apart from Bhagat, former Councillor of Rourkela, Asesh Mohanty, was also interrogated by ED officials in connection with extortion of Rs 24 lakh cash from a super class contractor.

Besides, the ED officials also grilled more than five persons including Pranakrushna Rout on their business links with the D-brothers.

"I am not involved in any tender fixing, I am a businessman and I do not have any link with D-brothers,” Rout said.

As Dhalasamant brothers were involved in various illegal business including extortion, tender fixing, sand quarry auction and scrap dealing, ED is trying to dig out more information on their crime syndicate and modus operandi.
